The workshop brought together teachers from the Institut National Sup\u00e9rieur de Technologie Industrielle (INSTI) of Lokossa who are involved in the project.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>L'atelier a \u00e9t\u00e9 une excellente occasion d'\u00e9changer des exp\u00e9riences et de cr\u00e9er une communaut\u00e9 de pratique durable ax\u00e9e sur le E-Learning au B\u00e9nin. L'objectif ultime \u00e9tait de soutenir la mise en \u0153uvre de l'enseignement \u00e0 distance au sein de l'universit\u00e9 et \u00e0 l'\u00e9chelle nationale.<\/p>\n\t<p>At the workshop, participants engaged in plenary presentations and shared examples to explore the concept of learning and practice communities. They then worked individually and in small groups to define their own &#8220;E-Learning&#8221; community in Benin.<\/p>\n<p>Finalement, les participants ont exprim\u00e9 leur d\u00e9sir de poursuivre sur cette lanc\u00e9e \u00e0 travers des forums de discussion en ligne, des webinaires hebdomadaires et de futures r\u00e9unions pour partager leurs exp\u00e9riences.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\t<p>One teacher mentioned, &#8220;The community of practice we established today will enable me to seek advice from peers and address pedagogical and educational challenges.&#8221; Another teacher expressed excitement about &#8220;learning from my community of practice and utilising the expertise of my peers to enhance my online teaching design and delivery.&#8221; Another participant echoed the importance of community involvement for professional success.<\/p>\n<p>The Africa Digital Campus (ADC) project involves approximately 65 teacher-researchers from the Institut National Sup\u00e9rieur de Technologie Industrielle (INSTI) at the National University of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (UNSTIM) in Lokossa, Benin. These educators actively contribute to developing online training modules, enriching the Institute&#8217;s curriculum offerings (formerly known as the IUT of Lokossa).<\/p>\n\t<p>Les partenaires du<a href=\"https:\/\/direcct.eu\/en\/projets\/africa-digital-campus-deploying-the-offer-and-access-to-distance-learning-for-pedagogical-continuity-in-higher-education-in-west-africa\/\"> Campus num\u00e9rique Afrique<\/a> (ADC) project organised on Wednesday, 1 March 2023, at the Virtual University of Burkina Faso (UV-BF) in Ouagadougou meeting &#8220;Community of Practice&#8221; on E-Learning. This workshop, addressed to the UV-BF teachers involved in the project, aimed to create a community of learning and practice in Burkina Faso to support the deployment of distance learning in higher education.<\/p>\n<h2>Une journ\u00e9e pour le d\u00e9veloppement de la communaut\u00e9<\/h2>\n<p>Following the series of training sessions held between July and September 2022 on the scripting, design and implementation of courses and on the evaluation of learning, thirty teacher-researchers from the Virtual University of Burkina Faso met again on Wednesday, 1 March 2023, at the University&#8217;s offices in Ouagadougou for a day of exchanges and experience sharing. This meeting aimed to create a sustainable community&nbsp;of practice on E-Learning in Burkina Faso to support the deployment of distance learning at the Universities in the country and beyond<\/p>\n\t<h2>Vers une communaut\u00e9 africaine d\u2019\u00e9ducation num\u00e9rique<\/h2>\n<p>The participants first discussed the notion of communities of learning and practice through alternating plenary presentations and examples. They then worked individually and in groups to define their &#8220;E-Learning&#8221; community in Burkina Faso. Finally, they debated the perspectives and success factors of an African digital education community.<\/p>\n<p>One participant said: &#8220;I will now be able to benefit from the experiences of my e-learning colleagues to improve my performance in my online courses&#8221;. Another agreed that &#8220;there is a strong need to create a community of practice to boost digital education. Alone, it is difficult, but together, there is no reason we can&#8217;t succeed!&#8221;<\/p>\n\t<h2>ADC, un projet innovant pour les enseignants et les \u00e9tudiants<\/h2>\n<p>About 70 teacher-researchers from the Virtual University of Burkina Faso are involved in the Africa Digital Campus (ADC) project. They produce online training modules to enrich the UV-BF training courses in Bachelor&#8217;s degrees (Mathematics, Physics, Geomatics, Software Engineering) and Master&#8217;s degrees (Health and Telemedicine, Cybersecurity, Training and Education Technology).<\/p>\n<p>Port\u00e9 par l'Institut fran\u00e7ais de recherche pour le d\u00e9veloppement (IRD) et le R\u00e9seau de recherche et d'\u00e9ducation d'Afrique de l'Ouest et du Centre (WACREN), en partenariat avec l'Agence universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF), avec des fonds de l'Union europ\u00e9enne (UE) d\u00e9l\u00e9gu\u00e9s \u00e0 de l'Agence Fran\u00e7aise de D\u00e9veloppement (AFD), le projet Africa Digital Campus (ADC) vise \u00e0 :<\/p>\n&#8211; to provide access to students from West and Central African universities, including the Virtual University of Burkina Faso, to a quality online training offer;<br>\n &#8211; to strengthen the use of online training on a local scale.\n<p>Le projet, d'une dur\u00e9e de deux ans, vise \u00e0 mutualiser les ressources et \u00e0 promouvoir l'\u00e9change de connaissances entre les diff\u00e9rentes parties prenantes.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Africa Digital Campus (ADC) project partners organised a &#8220;Community of Practice&#8221; meeting on E-Learning in Lokossa on Wednesday, March 29, 2023.
